Pay & Display terminals integrated with automatic number plate recognition to link seamlessly with enforcement and penalty collection services UK Headquarters, February 21 2008 – Parkeon - the world’s leading provider of parking space management solutions – is launching a new system that combines off-street Pay & Display (P&D) terminals with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) on Stand C5 at Parkex 2008. The combined applications provide a gateway to the automatic generation of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) and the subsequent collection of fines. A key element of the system is a scroll-over alpha-numeric display on the P&D terminal’s LCD panel on which motorists enter their full registration plate details. The system is an extension of Parkeon’s Parkfolio® centralisation program. It is designed to streamline the PCN issuing and penalty collection processes, whilst also reducing overheads for car park operators. Parkeon is also introducing a new contactless credit/debit card reader for its Strada® range of payment terminals. The device is being launched to enable the machines to handle the latest “wave and pay” bank cards currently being introduced by a number of major banks. Contactless card readers can be retro-fitted to existing Strada machines. This will enable operators to introduce the latest innovation in payment solutions cost-effectively and demonstrates the future-proof design of Parkeon’s equipment. Another solution being demonstrated for the first time by Parkeon is an audio “Help Point” for the Strada range. It uses a wireless connection to enable drivers to speak to the parking operator. The facility is designed to increase user satisfaction and payment compliance by enabling drivers to ask for immediate advice, should they have a query when using a payment terminal. A comprehensive range of Parkeon Varioflex® Pay-on-Foot solutions for off-street parking schemes will also be demonstrated. This will include automatic licence plate number recognition and rechargeable contact/contactless payment cards that are interoperable between P-o-F and P&D terminals. # # # Parkfolio, Strada and Varioflex are trademarks of Parkeon
