| Parkeon promotes Ian Newberg to President |

In his former
role as Parkeon’s National Sales Director, Ian oversaw and restructured
Parkeon’s Business Development team in order to increase sales of multi-space
parking systems. Since Ian took over,
Parkeon, Inc. has posted a revenue increase of approximately 80%. Additionally, he was involved in the largest
parking smart card program in the
Ian joined
Parkeon in 2006 after more than a decade with Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc.
where he was in charge of Cubic’s US Eastern Regional office, managing various
business segments including operations, testing, and sales. During his time at Cubic, Ian was responsible
for the implementation of several transit system initiatives, including
Washington D.C. Metro’s contactless smart card program (“SmarTrip”) and
As you can see, smart card implementations are a
specialty of Ian’s, which is one reason why he was recently elected as Vice
Chair (Parking) of the Smart Card Alliance’s Transportation Council. Additionally,
he is a graduate of the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA)
Leadership program.
While he is excited about this opportunity, Ian also
recognizes the challenges ahead of him.
“Our business is growing more complex all the time”, says Ian. “If we
want to remain the leader in the industry, we have to stay on top of where the
market is going, and develop the intricate parking systems customers are
seeking.”
