A new National Express Scania bus bristling with latest generation ticketing technologies – including a fully functioning ITSO system – will take centre stage on the Parkeon stand at Euro Bus Expo 2008. The vehicle will be used to demonstrate the integrity of Parkeon’s end-to-end approach to automatic fare collection, with visitors able to track the entire ticketing process from payment through to validation and back office reconciliation.
At the heart of the system is the company’s latest generation Wayfarer 200 platform, which not only supports ITSO functionality but also integrates, through e-Bus architecture, third party systems such as RTPI and mobile communication.
This market-leading technology will be complemented at the show by solar-powered on street ticket vending machines, remote smartcard validators and back office management systems.
“This year, we took the decision to demonstrate the power of our technology in the most effective way possible – on a bus and operating in a real-time environment,” says Philippe Millet, Parkeon Transport Systems Director. “There’s no better way to communicate the value that we can create on behalf of bus operators and transport authorities.”
Parkeon’s Wayfarer ticketing platform remains the only system specified for every major ITSO project in Great Britain.
