latest generation ticketing technologies – including a fully functioning ITSO
system – will take centre stage on the Parkeon stand at Euro Bus Expo 2008.

market by winning six significant Pay on
Foot contracts over the past two months. Parkeon will install its Varioflex
system in car parks for Cambridge City
Council , Harwich Port, Southend
Hospital and Torbay Council, along
with a full replacement of all equipment at NinewellsHospital in Dundee, via Parking
Operator, Vinci Park. Parkeon has also won the order to
extend its existing system at “The O2” entertainment venue, equipping an
additional car park. All these systems will be installed during the autumn of
2008.
Dallas, TX, June 1, 2008 – At the 2008 IPI Show, Parkeon, Parkeon, the world’s leading provider of integrated on-street parking systems, introduced their first American-made multi-space parking meter. Currently, there are over 13,000 European made Parkeon pay stations in the U.S., but plans are to manufacture new Strada pay stations at Flextronics in Plano, TX.
In September 2006, Blackpool Transport and NoWcard sent live the world’s first network-wide ITSO Smartcard system – chip-bearing passes that give concessionary pass holders free travel and which are automatically recognised when held close to a bus ticket machine. The ITSO-based smart card has since been adopted by the government as the standard for all England’s concessionary passes. The Blackpool-trialled system has now handled over 15 million successful smart transactions and has been rolled out to nearly every bus in Lancashire & Cumbria.
