Parkeon, the global ticketing technology company, has appointed Coaxial, part of the Adnan Al Sharhan Group, to support its business strategy in the rapidly growing Gulf States public transport sector.

Coaxial provides hardware, software and support solutions for IT and infrastructure projects with Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), and will work closely with Parkeon to deliver automatic fare collection systems as numerous multi-billion pound transport projects planned for the region begin to take shape.

As the economies of the Gulf States develop, there is growing demand for public transport,” says Ashley Bailey, Business Development Manager at Parkeon Transportation.

Parkeon has already been involved in numerous public transport automatic fare collection projects in the region, but we see even greater opportunities opening up through the Coaxial partnership as Gulf countries look to transform their rail and bus networks.”

Coaxial, based in Kuwait, is well-known and well-connected within the GCC and impressed Parkeon with its understanding of IT, financial control and ticket retailing, together with its ability to offer round-the-clock technical support.

Commented Coaxial’s Hozefa Fakhruddin, Sales Director – “We are very pleased to be partnering with Parkeon to offer world-class ticketing solutions within the Gulf region. There is an increasing focus on enhancing public transport experience for the customer in the region using ICT and we want to tap into this potential with the gamut of ticketing solutions offered by Parkeon. We have considerable experience servicing the leading public transport operator in our home base of Kuwait and see the partnership with Parkeon as a natural extension of our business capabilities for the years to come.”
