rsp_accreditation_300.jpgParkeon’s recently launched range of UK rail ticket vending machines has achieved RSP approval for its Ticket on Departure capability.

The accreditation applies to both the Astreo and Galexio machines, enabling passengers who make on-line bookings for train journeys to collect their chosen tickets from the Parkeon machines.

“TOD is a key element in the retailing channels being adopted by TOCs and by online rail booking specialists, so this success is a significant step forward in our plans for the UK rail sector,” says Paul Moirano, Parkeon’s Sales Director for UK rail.

The company launched its new UK TVMs in April this year, significantly widening the choice of TVMs available to TOCs.

Parkeon is a leading supplier and integration partner for rail operations across Europe, notably in France where the company works closely with SNCF and RATP.

In addition, its ticketing technology is at the heart of major multi-modal public transport projects in Belfast, Perth and Melbourne, where Parkeon systems are operating on rail, bus, ferry and tram. Furthermore, the company’s leadership in smart ticketing and ITSO systems throughout the UK will be of great benefit to train operators aiming to take advantage of latest technology in rail retailing. Parkeon is currently involved in every major ITSO scheme and is processing millions of ITSO transactions every month.
